Dr. George W. Counts Interest Group Dinner

Join the Dr. George W. Counts Interest Group and the IDSA Foundation for an evening of community and connection at IDWeek 2026 on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 5:30 p.m. ET at Isla, a top-rated, island-inspired restaurant in downtown Washington, D.C. Cocktail hour will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner from 7 to 9 p.m. Shuttles will be provided from multiple IDWeek conference hotels to transport attendees to and from the event.

IDSA’s Dr. George W. Counts Interest Group is comprised of Black/African American ID physicians, scientists and advocates who are committed to advancing health and systemic equity in medicine and the field of ID. The Counts Interest Group invites you to attend this year’s dinner to learn more about their efforts and to network among those most dedicated to their mission. 

A small portion of every ticket will support mentorship and travel grants for Black/African American students and residents to attend IDWeek and immerse themselves in the field of ID. A receipt for tax purposes will be distributed following the event to all supporters.
