The IDSA Foundation, the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, serves as the primary fundraising partner advancing IDSA’s strategic priorities.

Our mission

Amplifying the impact of IDSA’s work

Through philanthropic and partner support, the Foundation strengthens the ID workforce; promotes inclusion, diversity, access and equity; and enhances IDSA’s capacity to lead in preparedness, research and public health response. By aligning fundraising efforts with IDSA’s mission, the Foundation helps ensure the Society’s long-term impact as a trusted convener and leader in addressing the most pressing ID challenges.

Dr. Jasmine Marcelin named 2025 IDSA Foundation Diversity Champion

Jasmine Marcelin, MD, FIDSA, FACP, received the Foundationʼs Diversity Champion Award honoring an IDSA member who exemplifies extraordinary commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, access and equity within the ID community.

Foundation-sponsored George Counts Interest Group event

More than 100 Black/African-American ID physician leaders and mentors convened to inspire medical students to pursue a career in ID. The George Counts Interest Group is committed to advancing health and systemic equity in the field of ID and in medicine.

IDSA Foundation Art Auction with Dr. Ana Velez

ID physician Ana Velez, MD, FACP, FIDSA, generously created and donated unique artwork for an auction at IDWeek. The auction raised funds for the IDSA Foundation’s efforts to support future ID professionals.

Your support fuels the future of ID medicine

The IDSA Foundation strengthens the ID workforce by facilitating  mentorships, offering travel grants to early-career experts and educating more than 1,000 clinicians each year on timely ID care topics. We also advance health equity by supporting rising clinicians in underrepresented communities, helping to build a more prepared, diverse and resilient ID workforce.
